Spring is in the air. Let spring cleaning be part of your routine. Here’s a start:
- Declutter your home. Get rid of things you don’t need/use. Make 3 piles of items: must keep, must get rid of, not sure. The general rule is to get rid of things you haven’t used in one year. You can donate unused/unwanted items or sell them in a garage sale. For the unsure pile, revisit them a week later and make a decision to either keep or get rid of.
- Spring clean your diet by incorporating more spring vegetables into your meals. Asparagus, baby greens, carrots and leeks are in season in my part of the world and posses many health benefits. Reduce the amount of starchy vegetables in your diet. (So long plates full of potatoes. But we can still see each other in potato salad.)
- Start walking outside regularly. If you’re fortunate to be near a park, take walks there and watch the buds, then flowers make their spring appearance.
This list should keep you busy. More spring cleaning tips next week.
