With travel comes the unknown; it’s all part of the adventure. In travel, as in life, things sometimes don’t go according to plan. This Christmas I had planned to tour Belize and Guatemala. Instead I ended up in Montréal for a funeral and saw the end of December in the Bahamas.

Travel and life often require us to make adjustments. While we may not always embrace the unexpected we learn to accept it and just go with the flow.

My travel year in review
I started 2016 off with the tail end of my trip to Rajasthan India. Several months later I visited a part of my Canadian ancestral homeland (i.e. Nova Scotia) that I had not experienced before: the Black Loyalist Museum in Birchtown then Wolfville and Grand Pré, former Acadian settlement. In October, I took advantage of a seat sale on Icelandair and spent some time in this increasingly popular destination. Finally I ended up somewhat unexpectedly in the Bahamas for Christmas Day week.
