Wellness Wednesday. – Weather to workout

It’s that time of year where a change in temperature and reduction in daylight hours can affect mood and activity level. Here are a few tips to help keep you moving as the northern hemisphere moves towards the winter season.

  • Opt for indoor workouts to stay safe and warm.
  • Work out at home to save on travel time to the gym.
  • Perform a longer warmup to make sure your muscles and joints are appropriately prepared to workout.
  • Do something, even if it’s only a few minutes. A set of push-ups and/or sit-ups during commercial breaks is more beneficial than just sitting on the couch.

Keeping active during a change of season and weather can positively impact your mood and help maintain regular workout habits.
