I always laugh at ridiculous situations and stressful ones. Perhaps my body was trying to tell me something all these years.

It combines laughter exercises with breathing practices from yoga in a group setting and was developed by Dr. Madan Kataria. You can immerse yourself into the world of Laughter Yoga at their site:

Studies have shown that the body can’t distinguish between real laughter and pretend so you are privy to the following benefits regardless how you end up laughing.

  • reduced blood levels of stress hormones
  • engagement of core muscles (internal obliques get a workout as you guffaw)
  • uplifted mood
