Did you know the UN named the time period of 2015-2024 the decade for people of African descent?
I didn’t until I went onto the African Nova Scotian Affairs website.
http://www.un.org/en/events/africandescentdecade/index.shtml
Through forced and voluntary migration, people from Africa have populated all four corners of the globe. (Odd saying as the earth is a sphere and therefore doesn’t have corners. A carry-over, I suspect from the flat earth society.)
Most people, including many Canadians, aren’t aware of the (approximately) 400 years of history of people of African descent in one of Canada’s founding provinces. To mark the decade of people of African descent, may I suggest a trip to Nova Scotia. Happy exploring!
