Bonavista is located in the far east of the last province to join Canadian Confederation, Newfoundland. Nearby is Nova Scotia, one of the four founding provinces of this country we call Canada. Along with New Brunswick (another of the original four) and PEI (Prince Edward Island), they form what is known as the Atlantic provinces of this nation.
