Health is not just the mere physical; it is also mental and spiritual. It isn’t just the absence of disease but the presence of balance. When body, mind and soul are in harmony, wellness is said to have been achieved.
Weal = wellness
Health is often described as a state but it is also an action. It requires ongoing attention through healthy habits and active living. To achieve balance, or wellness, is also a dynamic process that requires action. Here are some WWT tips on Wellness Wednesday you can practice at home and abroad.
Body
Healthy eating and physical activity can translate to good physical health. Eat a variety of whole foods and limit or omit processed and refined foods. Participate in activities such as walking or taking the stairs instead of the elevator and cultivate an exercise routine that conditions the cardiovascular and musculoskeletal systems.
Mind
Aromatherapy has an effect on mind and emotions and is often employed to deal with moments of stress and anxiety. Have a favourite blend on hand in either a lotion or perfume and use when needed.
Exercise is good for uplifting mood too and reducing stress. See Exercise for Mental Health
Soul
Travel is good for the soul. It can help us reconnect with ourselves, bring joy and elicit a sense of peace. (Chocolate is said to be good for the soul too so why not indulge a little?) Aromatherapy can be used to soothe the soul too; see above for tips on use.
āOnly through travel can we know where we belong or not, where we are loved and where we are rejected.ā

Oooh, I haven’t tried aromatherapy yet. I’ll put that on my list. Sounds divine as part of a nightly routine for winding down š
Thanks for your comment. Aromatherapy is definitely ‘divine’ for winding down and it can help improve sleep too!
